Perfectly Petite Inc. has successfully completed our first Model Search for 2006!! WOW, what a response we had received from all over the U.S. The decisions were hard to make, for we had received so many really amazing talent submissions. We want to thank ALL women who had entered our 2006 Search, we enjoyed reading all essays and reviewing all of your photos as well.

Grand Prize Winner - Samantha M. (North Carolina)

"I would be the "perfect" Perfectly Petite Model of 2006 because I have spent much of my life trying to be a good role model and I believe that Should come first in a model. I believe that a good model must not only exhibit good physical characteristics, but also character, intelligence, inner strength, and an indescribable inner beauty that comes from the heart.

Since much of the media emphasizes a woman's value based upon her appearance, the world needs positive role models now more than ever. True beauty is not about height, weight, make-up, perfect skin, hair or any of that. True beauty comes from the inside before it can shine on the outside.

A true model can display any of her qualities in her work. She can show all of her sweetness with her smile, her strength and intensity with her eyes, her pain with one somber gaze, and her cleverness with a simple grin. I see this as an opportunity to prove that and I would be honored if you would give me that chance. I agree with Selma Hayek when she said, "People often say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," and I say that the most liberating think about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder." This empowers us to find beauty in places where others not dare look, including inside ourselves." In short, the miracle of a young woman is that she is a unique force of nature with a enduring beauty inside her that she just needs to know how to release."

Runner Up Semi Finalist - Bunmi S. (Florida)

"I would make the perfect Perfectly Petite Model of 2006 because I want my 15 minutes of fame. No, just kidding! I've always wanted to model, but because I'm only 5'0, I was told that I couldn't. People would say, "You have a nice look, but your not tall enough even for petite modeling." I had a lot of doors closed in my face, but I wouldn't accept that and I was able to get some modeling jobs with people who thought I had potential. I'm tired of being told no for something that I want and KNOW that I can be good at.

I'm a petite woman with a loud voice that will express that the majority of women are 5'6 and under, we NEED representation in the modeling world! I think that anybody should be given the chance to model if they have a passion for it no matter what their height, age or size is. If somebody has the passion and the look, but is too short, you never know what kind of model you could be missing out on! Give US a chance to shine because we are just as GOOD & BEAUTIFUL as the 5'10 models! Last but not least, I'm proud to be petite and would not change that for ANYTHING!"
