Perfectly Petite Inc. has successfully completed our first Model Search for 2007!! WOW, what a response we had received from all over the U.S. The decisions were hard to make, for we had received so many really
amazing talent submissions. We want to thank ALL women who had entered our 2007 Search, we enjoyed reading all essays and reviewing all of your photos as well. Our 2007 Petite Model Search has already started, for those of you who entered our 2007 search, you are allowed to resubmit a whole new entry again if you'd like to. "I would make the "perfect" Perfectly Petite Model of 2007 Because I am already to show the world that a model does not have to be 5'8, bone thin, and gaunt to look good or to be sucessful in modeling.
Professionals in the fashion industry need to recognize that beautiful women come in every shape and size. It is my passion and dream to become a sucessful petite model. I recently competed in a large competition in the petite division. The height requirements were 5'4 - 5'7 3/4. Although this was a great experience for me, I knew going in the competition that someone taller than me would win based on the industry standards. Proving that someone my size can strut their stuff on the runway and take beautiful photographs is my life's passion. I think it is time for everyone to take a long hard look at the beautiful petite women of the world. Once the industry professionals realize petite models want to work and are good at what we do, change will occur. I'm ready to show the world what smaller girls are made of and give the taller, thinner girls a run for their money."

"I would make the "perfect" Perfectly Petite Model of 2007 because I understand the restrictions petite models face. I have an additional problem. Age. Yes my friends, ageism is alive and well in the modeling industry. Who came up with this idea that after your late 20's your no longer viable as a model? "Americas Next Top Model" sets their limit at 27.

I happen to be 26 and have been told to lie about my age. I felt it was important to finish college and pursue a career in healthcare before modeling. I have the privilege of helping doctors detect cancer so that patients can get appropriate treatment. I work in the middle of the night, shoot during the day, and do it all over again. I use vacation time to compete and travel for modeling. Crazy huh? I've learned that true beauty is going after what you want and not letting any obstacle stop you. The biggest obstacle most people face is themselves. So while everyone else is, "waiting to be discovered" I encourage you to make an investment in yourself and use that beauty as a motivation in your modeling and other areas of your life."
