Model Search 2004 Winner - Erin Muir

Erin Muir has been performing, singing, acting and modeling since she was a young girl twenty years ago. Initially, she began dancing and singing in musicals and plays in her hometown in central MN. By the time she reached high school, she got into modeling. There were several reasons why she was interested in modeling; first of all, it was FUN!! In addition to that though, she wanted to expand her abilities, make some extra money for music lessons and college, and meet new people in the industry.

Life sometimes gets in the way, and from age 15-20, Erin went through a life changing illness that many women (and men) in the performance and modeling industry experience, an eating disorder. There were many reasons this happened, including pressures to be thin and tall, to have that model look, and more....... perfectionism reared its ugly head.

Through the support of a beautiful family and wonderful friends, Erin overcame her illness. She went on to become a public speaker about her experiences with eating disorders, speaking about recovery and, "Life After the Eating Disorder" across the Midwest.

Since that time, Erin has been a very active performer. She toured the USA in a band in 2003, and has appeared in over thirty musicals and operas, over thirty plays, more than thirty independent/student films, two feature films and countless other projects. In addition to modeling and acting, she recently wrote and is producing a play for the 2004 MN Fringe Festival. She enjoys modeling still, for all the same reasons... It's FUN! It's a great way to meet new people in the industry and learn more about herself and others.

In addition to that, Erin feels that she can be a role model for other women and girls who are not "perfect," (In other words... all of us!). We all have imperfections and it is that which makes us unique, beautiful and special. She is extremely excited to be involved with Perfectly Petite Inc., because she wholly embraces Perfectly Petite's "mission" statement and knows that working with this company is also a lot of FUN!
