Millions of people...

The majority of women are petite! If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, than the fashion and modeling industries should represent the millions of people who think of themselves as beautiful, youthful, energetic and fun! These are extremely contagious qualities! If given the chance, petite women would enliven runway shows and High Fashion photo shoots with new faces and new energy. We would bring talent and life into every aspect of the modeling industry and everyone would benefit!

I, personally, wouldn't want to be anything but petite, even when many open auditions for runway shows specify a height requirement of 5'8 or taller. This is because I have confidence that, although the industry puts this limit upon itself, most of the general public (the very people they are marketing to) do not discriminate.

By excluding petite women, companies and agencies have eliminated an unforeseeable amount of talent that could have generated billions of dollars for them. They've also excluded a large segment of the world's population, which could have been their consumers.
