It's bad enough deciding which shoes match your bag, your blouse or
your pants. How about your glasses? There are so many choices for
great looking eyewear, how do you know where to begin? What's in and
what's not? What colors will flatter your skin tones? What about sports?
How can I tell if they fit? Should you wear metal, plastic, or no
frame at all and go rimless? Lets take a look and break it down to
daytime, evening and playtime.
For daytime I love the colors that are now available in plastic
frames. Choose a shape that contours the shape of your eyebrows,
doesn't rest on your cheeks and is no wider than the widest part
of your face. If your eyes are too close together, try a frame that
is light in color the middle. Which tones flatter your skin the
most? Tortoise, caramel, teal and copper colors work well when your
coloring has golden undertones. Try blue, garnet, purple and black
if you look better in cool colors. The best look is to have a frame
with a mix of colors. It takes the place if makeup and will add
instant pick up to your complexion.
For something more elegant, dressy and sophisticated, a metal frame
is a wonderful addition to your eyewear wardrobe. Start off with
this tip STAY AWAY from shiny silver or shiny gold. It accentuates
an oily complexion and competes with your jewelry. Try coppers,
antique gold and colored metals for your warm tones. For cooler
features try pewter, blacks, antique platinum and plums. Rimless
can be very playful, by having a colorful frame (temples and bridge)
or very understated and timeless if you choose simple neutral tones.
Playtime is the most fun when creating your new look. Think spring
hinges, funky colors and different lens choices. Do you need a lens
that changes color from outdoors to indoors (less stuff to carry
in your pocketbook), or polycarbonate (unbreakable) lenses for sports?
A filtered polarized lens may be best for you if drive or play golf.
This will eliminate virtually all the outside glare. Remember, sunglasses
should be a bit larger than your regular glasses. The more lens
coverage, the better for the health of your eyes.
Your eyewear can create a new image for you. They'll can enhance
your best features or create an angle or contour where you need
it. Eyewear fashion means that your specs will make you look great,
feel comfortable and see clearly in perfect synergy. Try it, you'll
see!
